White papers are an effective way to share useful information, demonstrate your expertise and generate leads through the blogs.
Members can publish gated resources such as PDFs, eBooks, reports and guides. Each white paper receives its own landing page, where visitors complete a form before downloading it. Their contact information is then sent to you as a lead.
How to Submit a White Paper
Follow these four steps to add your resource.
Step 1: Log In to Your Blog
Go to the relevant blog and sign in using your member credentials:
Step 2: Open the White Papers Section
From the menu on the left-hand side of your WordPress dashboard, select White Papers.
Step 3: Add Your White Paper
Select Add White Paper and complete the following fields:
Title: The public title of your white paper
Description: A compelling overview of what readers will learn
Excerpt: A short introduction for the resource directory
Description Image: A professional cover image or thumbnail
White Paper File: Upload your PDF, document, presentation, spreadsheet or ZIP file
Publish Status: Select Active to publish immediately or Pending to hold it for review
Step 4: Save and Publish
Review the information carefully before saving. If the status is set to Active, your white paper will be published and added to the resource directory.
How White Paper Leads Work
When someone downloads your white paper:
The prospect completes a short form with their contact and company information.
The white paper is delivered to them.
A lead notification is emailed to your account’s Admin contact and any additional email addresses added to the white paper.
The lead is saved within your account.
Need to check or update the Admin contact linked to your account? Follow our guide on how to view or change your contacts.
To review your leads, open White Papers and select View Leads beside the relevant resource.
Tips for Generating More Leads
Address a genuine buyer challenge
Focus on a problem your ideal customers are actively trying to solve, rather than only discussing product features.
Use a professional cover image
A clear, attractive cover can help your resource stand out in the directory.
Write a compelling description
Explain what the white paper covers, who it is for and what readers will learn by downloading it.
Keep your resources current
Review your white papers at least once a year and update any outdated information.
