How To: Update Your Listing and Posts After a Company Name Change or Acquisition
Mergers, acquisitions and rebrands happen often in the Dynamics channel. When your company changes its name — or is acquired by another firm — your listing and your published posts on the ERP Software Blog, CRM Software Blog and ERP Cloud Blog can be updated to match.
Some of this you do yourself; most of it we do for you. There are three options below. Most members choose Option 1.
Option 1: Rename Your Existing Membership (Recommended)
Your membership stays in place and everything moves to the new company name. Your published posts stay live and keep the search authority they have built.
What you update yourself
Log into your account on the site
Select Profile from the left-side menu — company name, logo, description, website and social links
Select Contacts from the left-side menu — the people on your account
See How To: Edit Your Own Profile, Logo, Listing Information and Contacts and How To: Change Contact Information and Emails For Your Account.
Your partner directory listing picks up the new name automatically once your profile is updated — nothing to request.
What we do for you — just email us at info@erpsoftwareblog.com
Change the company name in the title on your profile page.
Change the URL of your profile page and redirect the old one, so existing links, emails and social posts do not break.
Find and replace your company name and website URL across all of your posts.
Change your company name in any of our best-of listings you appear in.
Update the company name on your invoices.
Your membership rate and renewal date do not change.
One thing to handle on your side
Whitepapers and case studies stay in the old company name. These are your own PDF files and branded assets, so we cannot rewrite them. If the old name should no longer appear, take those down and send us replacements under the new brand.
Option 2: Rename, but Keep Historical Posts Under the Old Name
Same as Option 1, except your older posts continue to display the former company name while new posts publish under the new one. Useful when the old name still carries recognition in the market.
This is done with the Alternate Author field on each post you want to leave as-is. See How To: Change the Author Name on a Group Blog Post.
Important: changing your default author name alone may also change the author shown on posts you already published. Use Alternate Author for any post you want to keep under the previous name.
Option 3: Keep Two Separate Listings
If both companies should appear separately — for example, the acquired firm keeps operating under its own brand — each one needs its own membership at the standard rate.
If the acquiring company was a member previously, older posts already on the site under that name can be reassigned to the new listing.
What to Send Us
Email info@erpsoftwareblog.com with:
The exact legal company name to use going forward
Your new website URL, and the old one it replaces
Which option above you want
The admin contact and billing contact for the account
A new logo file, if the brand changed
Why This Matters
A rename keeps the search authority of your existing posts instead of starting over
Redirects prevent broken links from your own site, email campaigns and social posts
Find-and-replace catches the old name and old website URL buried inside years of post content
Billing and renewal notices reach the right people at the new company
Best Practice: tell us as soon as the deal is announced publicly. It is much easier before your old domain and email addresses are retired.
