We now give you the ability to add a personalized “Author Bio” block at the end of your blog posts, with a photo and text. This has benefits for SEO, plus trust and engagement.
We think this feature is especially valuable for companies that have one person (such as the company owner) posting content. However, you can turn it off for specific posts if you want to publish under a different author name.

How to add an author bio block:
Log in to the group blog site. Click on AUTHOR BIO from the sidebar menu and fill in the information.

What is an Author Bio URL?
A bio page on a company website is a dedicated webpage that provides detailed information about an individual team member, such as an executive, employee, or contributor. Its purpose is to humanize the company by showcasing the people behind the brand and highlighting their experience, expertise, and role within the organization.
Key Elements Typically Included:
Full name
Job title and department
Professional biography or career background
Headshot or professional photo
Education and credentials
LinkedIn or social media links
Contact information (optional)
Fun facts or personal interests (optional for a more personable tone)
To improve SEO and support structured data indexing by search engines, bio pages should use Schema.org markup, specifically the Person type. This can be implemented in JSON-LD format in the page’s HTML. Contact us if you need help setting up a Bio page on your company website
Important Notes About the Author Bio Block:
Filling in the fields on this page will add an author bio section to the bottom of ALL future posts - unless it is disabled or suppressed on an individual post (see below).
Changes to this page will only impact future posts; they will NOT change existing posts.
You can EDIT the text in your author's bio block, but it will NOT change anything that has already been published. Once an author block is published for a post, it cannot be changed or attributed to a new author in the future.
You can change the author's name that shows at the TOP of the post. Doing this will prevent the Author Bio block from being displayed (because it means you wanted a different author). Instructions to show a different author.
But what if you decide you do not want that author block to show on a specific post?
How to suppress the author bio block on an individual post:
At the bottom of the post /edit page check the box: Suppress Author Bio Block

Or
If you place a value in the Alternate Author field on a post/edit page, the Author Bio Block will also be suppressed because the author of the post will be assumed to be someone other than the standard author set up in the Author Bio menu.

Why should you add an author bio block?
SEO Value
Improved E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) Google uses E-E-A-T as part of its quality assessment. When blog content is clearly tied to a real, knowledgeable person, it signals trust and credibility, which can help your site rank higher, especially for YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) topics like finance, business, or health.
Linking Opportunities You can include a link to the author's LinkedIn profile or other content they’ve written, which enhances site structure and encourages deeper engagement.
Brand Signals When the same author appears consistently across high-quality content, it strengthens the brand’s topical authority in Google's eyes, especially if that person is also active on LinkedIn or has a personal brand.
Trust + Engagement Benefits
Humanizes the Content Readers are more likely to trust and connect with content that has a face and a name behind it. This can increase time on site.
Establishes Thought Leadership A strong author bio reinforces that the insights come from someone with real experience, making the content more persuasive and valuable, especially in B2B contexts like CRM or ERP software.
An author bio builds trust, enhances Google’s perception of your site’s authority, and supports user engagement, all of which are positive SEO signals that can help your blog rank better and convert more readers.
