This will surprise a lot of people.
I will be taking a sabbatical, from my own business, from March 15 to June 15, 2023. During that time, I will be completely offline.
Will I be backpacking through India or sitting on a beach somewhere sipping negronis? No.
Let me explain.
I started working when I was 15 years old. I started my own business in 2009, yet I still kept my “day job” until 2021. The longest period I have been offline was during a two-week trip to Myanmar, and I experienced major wifi-withdrawal symptoms.
In other words, I like to work.
I feel personally invested in the success of all my ERP and CRM Software Blog members.
However, I also choose to spend a considerable amount of my time doing volunteer work that involves teaching and counseling. I have been accepted into a special intensive study program to improve these skills. Think of it like a “master’s program” for helping people.
It will be 8 weeks, 6 days a week, 8 hours a day in the classroom, plus 3 to 4 hours a night of homework and preparation for group presentations.
It is going to be intense.
The only way I can fully maximize this opportunity is by disengaging from work. Completely. Even checking emails will just rope me back in to offer my two cents or put out fires.
After school is over, then I WILL be sitting on a beach with a negroni to recuperate for just a bit.
From March 15 to June 15, I will be relying on my team to keep the ERP/CRM Software Blog running smoothly and take care of our valuable members.
Check out our new Meet the Team page.
I am confident they are up to it, and I truly appreciate their willingness to step up during this time so that I can pursue my goals.
