We’re excited to announce a visual refresh for the group blog site home pages. This modernized layout will highlight featured images and improve the way your content is displayed, giving your posts more visibility and making the blog more appealing to visitors.
Many members have asked - how can I get my posts to be featured on the top of the home page? You don't need to pay extra, you just need to add a featured image.
Important: Our updated homepage layout will now prominently display posts that include featured images in a new top row.
• Posts with featured images will appear at the top of the homepage and then as new posts are added (chronologically) they will move down to the blog roll below the top row over time.
• Posts without featured images will appear just below this top row in the regular blog roll.
Why This Matters:
Using featured images makes your post stand out visually and increases click-through rates from site visitors.
How to Add a Featured Image:
1. In your WordPress post editor, locate the "Featured Image" panel (usually on the right side).
2. Click “Set featured image” and upload or select an image.
3. Click “Update” or “Publish” to save.
Image Guidelines:
• Optimum Size: 375px wide by 210px tall
• Optimum Ratio: 1.6 to 1
• Images that don’t meet this ratio will be zoomed or cropped to fit. If you are not sure how your featured image will look, publish your post and check the home page, then edit the featured image as needed.
• Important: Only use images that you own the rights to.
Have an image that is the wrong size?
1) You can use this online cropping tool and online resize tool.
2) Go to www.canva.com Click Create, Custom Size and set to 375x210. Template link.
